So many hurts and heartaches in this old world…sickness, sorrow, misunderstandings, strife, and grief. Love is that pervasive wind-like, unseen, ever moving force that keep us connecting even when we long to let go, to retreat, to give up, to be finished with all the pain. There are different kinds of sorrows and woes that strike to the core of the human soul. Some are known, can be soothed and shared by others, while some remain hidden, cannot be shared, and must be bore alone within the confines of one’s own heart. So deeply thankful this morning that within the confines of my heart there exists a relationship that surpasses time and place with One who will never fail me, never leave and never forsake. The gifts of having a heart filled with Christ are innumerable, measureless, boundless and eternal.
As I face this morning with a heavy heart, I am reminded that my sufficiency is in Christ. He is my confidence, my sustainer, my kinsman Redeemer, my ever present help in time of need. He is omnipresent, accompanying me on my journey while simultaneously visiting with all of His own and watching over all that He has made. As hurting and sorrow mounts within us, we can rest in the assurance that the One in whom we place our trust spans the breadth of existence and occupies all places fulfilling His divine will and purpose while we wait.
So much our minds cannot comprehend, yet our hearts must trust unfailingly in the perfect wisdom that is not our own, belonging only to the One we call Lord. My heart hurts so deeply for the suffering and the brokenhearted. May I ever be a burden bearer with a heart for prayer and one flowing with love. May I never lose the sensitivity necessary for loving deeply and without restraint. God bless all who long for His rest and may we find comfort and peace in the shelter of His wings.
Romans 15:4-7 “For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God.”
